Included with every product
Your product page
This is the public website page customers reach when they first scan your product QR code. It can contain photos, a description, and the information you want everyone to see.
The page and its content are yours. You decide what it says, how it looks, and when it changes. CodePersist does not have access to your website or its editing account, and cannot edit the page for you.
When you create a product
Enter the full URL for your product page, beginning with HTTPS (recommended; HTTP is also accepted). The page must already exist on a public website you control. CodePersist saves its address; it does not create or host the page.
The product page is required whichever templates you choose, even if you choose none.
What you can change later
You can edit this page's URL and display title in the dashboard. For example, when you run a promotion, add a link to your promotional page and set it as the default page for scans. Publishing a destination change is free of charge; there is no extra fee each time you update it. After you publish the change, customers scanning your product will see the promotion. Your product page stays available, and you can set it as the default page again when the promotion ends.
The new destination works with QR codes already on products; you do not need to reprint or relabel them. The address and product number inside an existing QR code do not change.
Refresh your website without replacing your QR codes
You can switch website providers, rebuild your site, or give it a whole new look while keeping the QR codes on your products. If your product page gets a new web address, update its link in CodePersist and publish the change. The same codes will then take customers to your new page, so there is no need to reprint or relabel products already made or shipped.
Technical detail
The required product-page link uses the GS1 product information relation gs1:pip. Its initial title is “Product information” and can be edited. The resolver also marks one configured link as the default destination.
