Add links and languages

A topic groups useful information, such as instructions or support. Each link opens a page or file that you provide.

Add a useful destination

  • Prepare a public web page or file. Test that it opens without signing in.
  • Open a product and choose a topic. Add a link, give it a clear title, and paste its full web address.
  • Add languages if the link is intended for a particular language.
  • Save your changes, then publish. Scan the code to check the result.

Choose what opens first

Every product needs a product-page link. You can send customers straight to the default link or show a menu of topics. Adding an optional topic does not automatically make it the first destination.

What should a customer see after scanning?

You have two choices. Both use the same product QR code.

The starting setting

Open one page

  1. Customer opens the QR link
  2. Your selected page opens

Useful when one page has everything a customer needs. Your product page is the default at first; you can choose another saved link.

Optional topic chooser

Let customers choose

  1. Customer opens the QR link
  2. CodePersist shows your menu of links
  3. Customer picks a link and opens your content

Useful for instructions, support and other choices. CodePersist hosts the menu. Your website or document host still holds the linked content.

In Pages & links, select Show a topic chooser when scanned, then Use topic chooser. Save and publish. To return to one page, open the same option and turn the chooser off.

A simple language example

For optional links, enter language codes separated by commas. These describe your page; they do not translate it. The required product-page link does not have an editable language field.

Understand language reminders

  • Two links for the same topic are easier to distinguish when each has a language.
  • A reminder about overlapping languages means the links share a language family. For example, fr and fr-CA both describe French.
  • Reminders help you review your choices; they do not translate pages or block saving.
  • Changing the app’s display language does not change your links’ languages. Excel files use semicolons between languages; the editor uses commas.

Change or remove a link

  • Edit the address when a page moves. Save and publish to send future scans to the new address.
  • Removing the default link makes the product page the default again. Choose another default if needed. The required product-page link must remain.
  • Removing a link here does not delete the page or file from its original website.
