Understand product history

History lets you review saved versions and return to earlier settings. Saving, restoring and publishing are separate actions.

Saved is not the same as live

  • Current marks the version you are editing. Published identifies the version most recently published.
  • After you save changes, customers may still see the earlier published version until you publish again.
  • For a disabled product, a published marker describes its history. It does not mean scans are currently working.

Example: bring back an earlier link

  1. Version 1 · published

Your instructions link opens the original manual.

  2. Version 2 · saved

You save a different manual link. Customers still get version 1 until you publish version 2.

  3. Restore version 1 → version 3

Restoring copies version 1 into a new saved version. Versions 1 and 2 remain in history.

  4. Publish version 3

Review the restored settings, publish, and test a scan. The original manual link is live again.

Restore with confidence

  • Open the product’s history and find the version you need.
  • Use the version number, date and destination to identify it. Restoring brings back the version’s saved settings together, not just one field.
  • Restore, review the new current version, and publish when ready.
  • History stores link addresses and settings. It does not back up the contents of external pages or files.
  • If you added a custom domain after that version, restoring its content keeps the current attachment. Earlier versions and previously downloaded artwork retain their original QR address.

Check publication activity

Publication activity lists attempts to make a saved version live. Check the version number and outcome when a change has not appeared. A failed attempt is not proof that your new links are live; retry and test a scan.
